FIRST FLIGHT

The MetaBird often requires a simple adjustment for its first flight. Push the tail to the second notch, activate the flapping of the wings at maximum speed and delicately launch the bird into the air. It’s well balanced if it starts to gain altitude immediately. If it turns to one side, move the ballast on the opposite wing to the direction it was turning toward the wing end.

Enjoy your flight!

Connecting

Once the app starts, after reading the quick start guide, the « find the bird » screen appears. As you switch on your bird, the name of your MetaBird (configurable) appears on the screen; you just need to click on it to be connected and move to the flying controls.

Tail settings

Before launching the bird in flight, you must choose the tail setting: High for a slow flight, low for a fast flight… And intermediate for the beginner.

Flying

There are two important recommendations to follow in order to manage your first flights:
How to hold your smartphone: don’t hold it with the whole hand but position your phone flat on your four fingers, your thumb touching the screen to control the throttle
The second is to let the bird gain altitude comfortably after you launched it, for a few seconds, holding your smartphone flat, before starting any maneuver.

Balancing the wings

Repairing a bird that flies poorly out of the box is very simple. Sometimes the wings are badly balanced and the bird refuses to gain altitude. Small sliding ballast weights provided for this purpose are present on each wing. Here is how to adjust them.

Mount or replace the canopy

Wings and tails are delivered separately and must be mounted or replaced in case of breakage or simply to customize your MetaBird. The important thing is never to pull the wing or tail by the ends, but always as close as possible to the base, which is robust.
